Privacy Policy

When you create an account we store your name, email address, and password. You may also add a job title, company, phone number, photograph, city, a short description, and links to your own pages. Everything past your name, email, and password is optional.

Other people using Netwarming can see your name, photograph, title, company, and city. Your phone number and email are shown to people you are connected to, so they can call or write to you — that is the point of the connection. They are not shown to strangers.

The app records who you are connected to, which of three rings you have placed them in, notes you write about a conversation, introductions you make between two people, and organizations you belong to or follow. Notes you write are yours and are never shown to the person they are about.

In the iOS app you may import contacts from your phone to find people you already know and to build your address book. The app asks the system for permission first, and iOS will not release anything until you grant it. If you decline, the rest of the app works normally.

Imported contacts are stored on your account and are visible only to you. They are not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared with other users. A contact who is not a Netwarming user is never contacted by us because you imported them.

You may connect your calendar so that events you save in Netwarming line up with what you already have scheduled, and so the app can show what is coming next. The app reads event titles, times, and locations. It does not read attendees or message bodies, and it does not write to your calendar unless you explicitly add an event.

The app uses your location to find networking events and organizations near you, and to sort them by distance. Location is requested only when you use a feature that searches by distance, and it is used to run that search. We do not keep a history of where you have been, and we do not track you in the background.

If you decline location access you can still search by naming a place instead.

You may photograph a business card to add someone to your network, and you may add photographs to an event you attended. The app asks for camera or photo library access at the moment you use one of those features.

A business card photograph is read to fill in a name, title, company, phone number, and email. The photograph is attached to that one contact and is visible only to you.

Event photographs work differently, because they contain other people. If you tag someone in an event photograph, that photograph is not shown to their network until they approve it. Until then only they and you can see it, and they can untag themselves at any time — once they do, the photograph leaves their album and cannot be re-tagged to them. Photographs uploaded to an event are also screened automatically before other attendees see them.

Netwarming collects publicly listed networking events from chambers of commerce, associations, and similar organizations in the Philadelphia area, so that they can be found in one place. This is public information published by those organizations.

If you check in at an event, other people checked in at the same event can see that you are there. That is what makes checking in useful. You choose whether to check in.

Paid plans on the website are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card details; we never see or store a card number. We keep a record of which plan you are on and whether it is active. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what they hold.

The iOS app does not sell anything and does not collect payment information.

Netwarming runs on Base44, which hosts the application and its database. Google Places is used to look up organizations and addresses when you search for them. Stripe handles payments on the web. Business card photographs and event photographs are processed by an automated model to read the card and to screen the photograph.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile, then My Account, then Delete Account. It asks you to confirm, and it is permanent.

Deleting removes your profile, your connections, your imported and manually added contacts, your notes and contact history, introductions you made, organizations you created, your organization memberships, your saved business cards, event invitations, and feedback you sent. Events that other people also saved, and photographs other people uploaded, are not deleted — but you are untagged from them.

Netwarming is a professional networking tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, the date at the top of this page changes and we will say so in the app.
